When people say the rights of the civil war was about states, they are not ignoring a big part of the picture?
They say the civil war was not about slavery, it was about states rights. Which is absolutely true. It was about the rights of states to legalize slavery ….. fought. It seems like they always forget that part. they act like it was out to tax on the Law of State bananas, or use art in courthouses, or something silly, but legitimate Sun But it was not. It was all over, especially a country fought right: the right to legalize slavery. And most Americans today sinus agreed that States do not have this right should not be a perfect example of the civil war that states do not have all the rights that they claim they should have?
It was to both and more. Slavery was a big part of the socio-economic status of the countries in this period. Remember also that anti-slavery people were not always there for the nobility of cause either … many wanted not only to the south secede themselves for their economic prosperity.
